Lucas Lawall (Fool Hand Luke) and Preston Jervey (Spaceboy) met in 2015 while performing with bands based in Charleston, SC. Since then, they’ve realized they are brothers from another mother and share a musical vision of providing high-energy funk, rock n roll, and old school hip hop that brings the audience along on an odyssey with dancing, grooving, and partying all night.
The duo joined forces as Fool Hand Luke and Spaceboy in 2024 with the objective of the band and audience to have fun, forget life’s worries, and shake that ass and get down. Their first album, “The Adventures of Fool Hand Luke & Spaceboy”, takes the listener on a journey through perspectives, based on real life and fun adventures, based on fantasy. They’re already working on their second album for an early 2025 release.
In the studio, Luke and Preston collaborate to create the beats, the feeling and the arrangements of each song. Luke handles lead vocals and percussion while Preston adds the guitar, bass, synthesizer, and backing vocals. They work closely to produce each track and, for live shows, they invite their friends to join them on bass, drums, keyboards, and sax on stage.
Every show involves plenty of improvisation and surprises, so fans should never expect to experience the same show twice.
